At a glance
Overview
Not true cascades — a 1.5-mile stretch of Class II-IV rapids where the Farmington River cuts through a Metacomet Ridge trap-rock wall in Simsbury/East Granby. Kayakers dominate the chute; the former Spoonville Dam was removed after the 1955 flood. Overlook views from the 2.7 mi Tariffville Overlook trail.
