The main loop options are the 2.8-mile Coastal Trail to an ocean overlook, the 5.4-mile Black Point Brook Loop, and the 9.7-mile Fairy Head Loop. This is a hiking and wild-coast preserve; there is no lifeguarded swim beach, and water access is limited to cobble beaches and coves off the trail.

Getting there
From East Machias, take Route 191 east 16.9 miles to the Cutler Coast trailhead. From Lubec, take Route 189 to Route 191 and continue about 10 miles. Park at the 20-car trailhead lot and pick a loop from the trail register.
