Donnell Pond Public Reserved Land is a large state-managed conservation unit in Sullivan, on the Downeast mainland north of Acadia. The classic swim is Schoodic Beach on Donnell Pond, reached by a short hike from the trailhead off Schoodic Beach Road; Redman's Beach is a longer walk. Water is cold mountain-pond clean, with ledges above the lake shore.

Getting there
From Route 1 in Sullivan, follow Punkinville Road and the Schoodic Beach Road spur to the Schoodic Beach trailhead. Schoodic Beach is a short, mostly flat hike from the lot; Redman's Beach is a longer walk along the pond. Read the PRL kiosk for current conditions.
