Overview
Echo Lake Beach is the designated freshwater swim beach in Acadia National Park, on the southwest side of Mount Desert Island. It is the most family-friendly swim in the park, with a sand-and-gravel beach, seasonal lifeguard, and changing house. Entry fee applies as part of the Acadia pass; parking fills early on hot summer days.

Getting there
From Somesville on Mount Desert, take Route 102 south and watch for the Echo Lake Beach entrance on the east side. A short access road leads to the beach lot and the stairs down to the water.
