Overview
Nahmakanta Lake is a long, narrow wilderness lake in the Nahmakanta Public Reserved Land in Piscataquis County, inside the 100-Mile Wilderness and crossed by the Appalachian Trail on its east shore. Access is over the gated KI Jo-Mary / Jo-Mary Road system; there is a primitive state-managed day-use / boat-launch area at the south end. No lifeguards, no developed amenities, cold deep water.

Getting there
From Route 11 near Brownville Junction or Millinocket, enter the KI Jo-Mary Road system (gate fees) and follow signs toward Nahmakanta Public Reserved Land. The final approach to the lake is gravel and informal.
