At a glance
Overview
Allagash Falls is a remote cascade of roughly forty feet on the Allagash River, deep inside the Allagash Wilderness Waterway. It is reached almost exclusively by canoe, as one of the signature features of a multi-day Allagash trip, with a portage trail around the drop. This is a trip-planning destination, not a day-use stop.

Getting there
Reached from upstream put-ins on the Allagash Wilderness Waterway (commonly Churchill Dam or Umsaskis Lake) by canoe; the standard portage trail bypasses the drop on river right. No road access. Plan with Allagash Wilderness Waterway rules and campsite reservations.
