At a glance
Overview
Angel Falls is a tall narrow drop on Mountain Brook in Township D, west of Houghton and south of the Rangeley Lakes region. It is reached by unpaved Bemis Track Road and a short trail with several brook crossings, so it is an after-dry-spell visit rather than a high-water day. The drop is among the tallest in Maine, but the approach is not suited to street-tire cars in mud season.

Getting there
From Route 17 near Houghton, turn onto unpaved Bemis Track Road (Bemis Road) and follow it to the signed pull-off / trailhead. The trail drops to and crosses the brook several times, with a roughly short but rocky walk to the base of the falls. The crossings are only reasonable in low water.
