At a glance
Overview
Big Falls sits on Grand Lake Stream in the village of the same name, at the outlet of West Grand Lake in the Downeast lakes country. The run below the dam is one of Maine's best-known landlocked salmon fisheries, with walk-down access from the village and cold, fast water year-round. It is a viewing and fishing stop, not a general swim spot.
