The historic drop on the Saco River between downtown Biddeford and Saco, viewed from bridges and the mill-district riverwalk.
At a glance
Overview
Cataract Falls is the historic mill-era drop on the Saco River between downtown Biddeford and Saco, where the river cuts through the old textile-mill corridor. Today it is a scenic urban-river stop viewed from bridges and riverwalk fences, not a swim spot; the river is dam-controlled, swift, and industrial-edged. Use the downtown Mill District as the orientation point.
