Dunn Notch Cascades
Bethel, Maine
Upstream ledge cascades in the Dunn Notch cut on the West Branch Ellis River, above Dunn Falls. AT access.
At a glance
Overview
Dunn Notch Cascades are the upstream ledges on the West Branch of the Ellis River, in the same AT corridor that drops to Dunn Falls. The notch itself is a narrow rock cut; the cascades run through it in pieces rather than a single big drop. Use the same East B Hill Road Appalachian Trail crossing as for Dunn Falls; the Bethel assignment in source data is approximate.

Getting there
Use the same AT crossing on East B Hill Road between Andover and Upton as for Dunn Falls. Take the AT into Dunn Notch; the cascades are pieces along the notch rather than one drop. Rock is slick and the notch is narrow.
