At a glance
Overview
Frenchman's Hole is a classic Bethel-area swim hole on the Bull Branch of the Sunday River, tucked off the Sunday River Road corridor in the foothills north of Newry. The pool sits below a small ledge drop, with cliff jumps, granite slabs, and deep clear water at summer flow. It is popular, crowded on warm weekends, and cold year-round; the rock is polished and slick when wet.
