Gambo Falls
Gorham & Windham, Maine
Presumpscot River drop at the historic Gambo powder-mill and dam site on the Gorham-Windham line, in the Sebago chain.
At a glance
Overview
Gambo Falls is the drop on the Presumpscot River at the old Gambo powder-mill and dam site, straddling the Gorham and Windham town line in the Sebago chain downstream of the lake. It is a historic industrial corridor with the Sebago to the Sea Trail nearby and short riverside viewing points. This is a viewing and walking stop rather than a swim: the river is managed for hydro flow and the rock near the drop is slick.
