At a glance
Overview
Grand Pitch is the standard name for a major drop on the East Branch Penobscot in the Patten / Baxter State Park region, in Aroostook County's Katahdin gateway country. The falls is a classic East Branch feature, reached by Baxter / IAT access roads and well-known to paddlers and backcountry travelers. Flow is strong year-round and the ledges are slick; this is a viewing and photo stop, not a swim.
