A landmark East Branch Penobscot ledge drop in Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument.
At a glance
Overview
Haskell Rock Pitch is a landmark ledge drop on the East Branch of the Penobscot River in T5 R8 WELS, inside Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument. It sits in a chain of East Branch whitewater features paddlers know well; Haskell Rock is the large boulder that splits the river at the pitch. It is a scenic and photography stop from the shore; the drop itself is expert-only whitewater and not a swim.
