Houston Brook Falls is a classic central-Maine waterfall in Pleasant Ridge Plantation, just off Route 201 near Bingham in Somerset County. A short trail from a small signed lot drops to a horsetail-style cascade of about 40 to 50 feet with a broad pool at the base. It is a popular Kennebec Valley stop; flow and visitor numbers both rise after rain.

Getting there
From Route 201 just north of Bingham, follow signs toward Pleasant Ridge and Houston Brook Falls to the small trailhead lot. The path is short and well-trodden, with a final descent on rock and roots to the pool.
