Jewell Falls
Portland, Maine
The only natural waterfall in Portland, in the Fore River Sanctuary off Route 9.
At a glance
Overview
Jewell Falls is the only natural waterfall within the city limits of Portland, tucked into the Fore River Sanctuary off Route 9 near the Congress Street corridor. A short city-forest trail from the parking pulls into a quiet ravine with a small ledge drop. It is an easy urban nature stop, not a wild cascade or a swim site.
