Getting there
Enter Beartown State Forest from Blue Hill Road in Monterey (off Route 23). Follow signs to the Benedict Pond day-use lot; the sandy beach and swim area are a short walk from the lot. The blue-blazed Pond Loop starts from the beach and joins the white-blazed AT on the east side at the Ledges.
