At a glance
Overview
Hopkinton State Park is a ~1,500-acre DCR park wrapped around Whitehall Reservoir in MetroWest. The main family swim is at Beach 2 off Cedar Street — paved parking, a bathhouse, shaded picnic groves, and boat rental in summer. Beach 1 is smaller and quieter. Both beaches are seasonal; the reservoir itself is open to non-motor and electric-motor paddling year-round. DEP cyano advisories have closed the swim areas in past summers — check DCR status before driving out.
