Overview
Puffer's Pond (also called Factory Hollow Pond) is a Town of Amherst conservation pond on the Mill River, with unofficial North Beach and South Beach swimming. There are no lifeguards — Amherst Conservation runs weekly water-quality tests Memorial Day through Labor Day and can close the pond when E. coli readings are high. The dam area and the cliff are off-limits and cliff jumping is prohibited. No dogs on the beaches or in the pond; no alcohol, no glass, no fires.
