Overview
Upper Goose Pond is a clear, quiet pond in Lee, MA along the Appalachian Trail. From the small AT hiker lot on US-20 near the Massachusetts Turnpike overpass, the white-blazed AT drops to the pond in about a half mile; the AMC-maintained Upper Goose Pond Cabin is farther in on a side trail. Swim access is off the cabin dock or the shore, and the cabin is staffed by volunteer caretakers roughly Memorial Day through Columbus Day. Treat it as a hike-in swim, not a drive-up beach.
