Bash Bish Falls upstream pools
Mount Washington, Massachusetts
Upstream pools on Bash Bish Brook above the main falls in Mount Washington. DCR posts no swimming on the entire brook.
At a glance
Overview
The upstream pools are the set of smaller plunge pools along Bash Bish Brook above the main falls in Mount Washington. People have historically swum here, but DCR's Bash Bish Falls State Park posts no swimming on the entire brook, and the upstream ledges share the same cliff-jumping fatality history as the main pool. Treat it as a viewing reference, not a swim.

Getting there
Use the same DCR upper lot on Falls Road in Mount Washington. Follow the main trail toward the overlook, then pick up the upstream brook path where it is open; do not trespass on adjacent Copake Iron Works / Taconic State Park sections on the NY side.
