Overview
The Cascade is a tall, narrow drop on Notch Brook in North Adams, reached from a short dirt trail off Marion Avenue. The trail follows the brook for a few minutes before opening to the falls amphitheater. Flow is best from snowmelt through early summer; the pool at the base is shallow and rocky, and the cliffs above are loose -- stay on the approach trail.

Getting there
From Route 2 in North Adams, turn onto Marion Avenue. Park on the shoulder at the marked trailhead; the dirt path follows Notch Brook upstream to the cascade in under 10 minutes.
