Granville Gorge
Granville, Massachusetts
Hubbard River cascades inside Granville State Forest on the MA/CT line. Rocky, fast water; unsanctioned swims, no lifeguards.
At a glance
Overview
Granville Gorge is the Hubbard River cascades corridor inside Granville State Forest, in far southwest Hampden County near the Massachusetts / Connecticut line. The DCR state forest has a day-use area, a campground, and a trail network tracking the river through a rocky, steep cascade run. The lower pools see informal swimming but there are no lifeguards; flow rises quickly after rain, and rock hazards make it a viewing-first stop.
