Hubbard River Gorge & Falls
Granville, Massachusetts
Long cascade corridor in DCR's Granville State Forest. Hemlock-gorge trail along the Hubbard River; no cliff jumping.
At a glance
Overview
Hubbard River Gorge & Falls is the long cascade corridor that gives DCR's Granville State Forest its identity — a series of falls, ledges, and plunge pools stepping down the Hubbard River through hemlock and pine. Access is from the main state-forest entrance off West Hartland Road, with parking near the campground; the gorge trail parallels the river downstream. DCR has posted against cliff jumping after past injuries and drownings, and treats the gorge as a viewing-and-wading corridor, not a developed swim destination.
