Overview
Race Brook Falls is a multi-tiered cascade on Race Brook inside Mount Everett State Reservation in Sheffield, often cited among the tallest waterfalls in Massachusetts. The Race Brook trailhead is on Route 41 (South Undermountain Road); the lower falls are about a half-mile in, and the trail continues another ~1.5 miles of steep climbing to the Appalachian Trail at Race Mountain. The pools are small and slick — a viewing hike, not a swim.
