At a glance
Overview
Sages Ravine is a shaded gorge on Sages Ravine Brook straddling the Massachusetts / Connecticut line, traversed by the Appalachian Trail and maintained by the AMC. The Lower Falls are the cascade-and-pool sequence downstream of the AT crossing; the standard approach is from the Northwest Road (East Street) trailhead in Mount Washington via the Sages Ravine Trail to the AT. Walls are steep, schist is slick after rain — a viewing site, not a swim.
