Agassiz Basin
Woodstock, New Hampshire
A short-walk gorge of potholes and small pools on Moosilauke Brook in North Woodstock; also known as Indian Leap.
At a glance
Overview
Agassiz Basin, also called Indian Leap, is a stretch of potholes and small gorge cuts on Moosilauke Brook in North Woodstock. The brook has carved bowl-shaped pools through smooth granite, with a narrow gap in the ledge that is the local namesake. It works best as a quick Kinsman Notch-adjacent stop rather than a full swim day, and the rock gets slick fast after rain.
