Big Eddy and Little Eddy are two of the classic Swift River swim stops along the Kancamagus Highway near the Passaconaway area. Granite-rimmed river pools with shallow edges and deeper channels give them a family-and-group feel; Big Eddy is the busier of the two, with Little Eddy functioning as an easier overflow. Flow matters here: after rain the Swift runs fast and should not be taken lightly.

Getting there
On the Kancamagus Highway (NH 112) east of Passaconaway Campground, use the signed Swift River pull-offs - Big Eddy sits on the north side of the road, Little Eddy is just upstream. Park in the designated pull-offs and follow the short paths down to the river.
