At a glance
Overview
East Pond is a small mountain pond on the eastern flank of Mt Osceola, reached via the East Pond Trail from the Kancamagus Highway (NH 112). The full out-and-back is ~4.5 miles on a moderate forest trail; the pond itself is quiet and shallow at the edges, with no beach and mostly mud-and-boulder shoreline. It's more of a hike-with-a-view destination than a swim destination, though on hot summer days hikers sometimes cool off at the outlet.
