Echo Lake State Park in North Conway is the official swim beach on Echo Lake at the foot of Cathedral Ledge, a completely different Echo Lake from the Franconia Notch one. Expect a compact sandy beach, a day-use lot, and one of the most dramatic backdrops in the Mount Washington Valley (the 700-ft Cathedral Ledge cliff face). Day-use fee in season. No dogs on the beach.

Getting there
From US 302 / NH 16 in North Conway, follow signs for Echo Lake State Park on West Side Road. Enter the state park gate and park at the beach lot.
