Lower Falls (Albany)
Albany, New Hampshire
The iconic Swift River ledge-and-pool swim stop on the Kancamagus Highway in Albany.
At a glance
Overview
Lower Falls is the iconic Swift River swim stop on the Kancamagus Highway, a broad polished-granite ledge system with long sliding flows, shallow pools, and a big riverside picnic area. It's one of the most-visited WMNF swim spots in the state — the WMNF Lower Falls Scenic Area lot fills fast on hot summer weekends. Signage warns strongly against jumping from the ledges; the shallow pools and moving rocks have a long injury history. Day-use fee / WMNF recreation pass required.
