At a glance
Overview
Sawyer Rock Picnic Site is a WMNF-managed stop on the Saco River in Bartlett, about 2.8 miles west of Bartlett village on US 302. A small dirt pull-off drops you onto a worn path along a guardrail, down to large ledges over clear deep pools. It is a classic White Mountain summer swim and jump spot, unsupervised but family-scene busy. Vault toilets and picnic tables; no potable water. Slick ledges in low sun, and the pool gets cold and pushy after mountain rain.
