At a glance
Overview
Umbagog Lake State Park is a remote big-water state park on Umbagog Lake in Errol, deep in the Great North Woods. The main day-use area, on the south end of the lake off NH 26, has a small sandy beach, a roped swim area, boat launch, and picnic tables, with the Umbagog campground / cabins further in. Dogs are not allowed on the beach or swim area (campground only, on 6-ft leash). Small per-person day-use fee, with self-pay iron ranger when unstaffed. Big, cold, wind-driven lake in a classic North Woods setting — often quiet mid-week even in summer.
