Wellington State Park is home to the largest freshwater swim beach in the New Hampshire state-park system — a long sandy crescent on the west shore of Newfound Lake in Bristol. Newfound Lake is one of the cleanest lakes in the state, with famously clear, cold spring-fed water and striking visibility. The park has a bathhouse, picnic areas, and a paddle launch. Day-use fee in season; fills early on hot summer weekends. No dogs on the beach.

Getting there
From NH 3A on the west shore of Newfound Lake in Bristol, follow signs for Wellington State Park. Pay the day-use fee at the gate and park at the beach lot.
