Ammonoosuc Ravine
Carroll, New Hampshire
A mountain-trail waterfall corridor on the west slope of Mount Washington, reached from Marshfield Station.
At a glance
Overview
Ammonoosuc Ravine is the west-side drainage of Mount Washington, reached by the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail from the Cog Railway's Marshfield Station. The corridor has a series of cascades and, farther up, the classic Gem Pool near the hut. This is a real mountain approach, not a roadside viewing waterfall - treat it as a hike with strong cold flow, slick granite, and commitment to turn-around decisions.
