At a glance
Overview
Amoskeag Falls is the Merrimack River drop in downtown Manchester, set below the Amoskeag hydroelectric dam. The natural falls are now dam-controlled, and the best public-access viewing is from the Amoskeag Fishways Learning and Visitors Center on the west bank, which has a fishway and an overlook. This is a viewing-only urban waterfall, not a swim or wade stop.
