Champney Falls
Albany, New Hampshire
A ~3.4-mile round-trip Kancamagus waterfall on Champney Brook under Mount Chocorua, from the Champney Falls Trail on NH 112.
At a glance
Overview
Champney Falls is a classic Kancamagus waterfall on Champney Brook on the north side of Mount Chocorua. The full out-and-back is a steady ~3.4-mile forest walk on the Champney Falls Trail from the Kancamagus Highway (NH 112), with a short side loop that brings you past Champney Falls itself plus the smaller Pitcher Falls just above. The waterfall reads best in spring runoff and after summer rain; in dry late-summer weeks it thins to a trickle. This trail also doubles as the most popular route up Mount Chocorua from the north, so the lot fills early on peak weekends.
