Chesterfield, New Hampshire
A short state-wayside loop through a Wilde Brook gorge on NH 9 east of Chesterfield in the Monadnock Region.
At a glance
Overview
Chesterfield Gorge is a natural area and state wayside on NH 9 east of Chesterfield village, carved by Wilde Brook. A 0.7-mile loop drops from the highway into the gorge, crosses footbridges over the brook, and climbs back out. It's a short, family-friendly nature stop — not a swimming hole — with benches and informational signage along the path. The gorge reads best after rain when Wilde Brook is running hard.
