Garfield Falls
Pittsburg, New Hampshire
A remote ~40-ft plunge on the East Branch of the Dead Diamond River in Pittsburg in the Great North Woods.
At a glance
Overview
Garfield Falls is the big dramatic waterfall of the Great North Woods — a ~40-ft plunge on the East Branch of the Dead Diamond River in remote Pittsburg, reached from logging-road networks north of First Connecticut Lake. The approach involves several miles of gravel logging road (Magalloway Road / Deer Mountain area) and then a short walk to the falls. Cell service is unreliable, signage is minimal, and surfaces are rough — carry paper maps. Worth the effort for anyone already up in the Connecticut Lakes corridor.
