Winniweta Falls
Jackson, New Hampshire
A quieter Jackson-area cascade off NH 16 with an unbridged Ellis River crossing required.
At a glance
Overview
Winniweta Falls is a lesser-known Jackson-area cascade on a tributary of the Ellis River, reached by a short trail off NH 16 that includes a crossing of the Ellis River itself. The crossing is unbridged and can be impassable during high flow — plan for a wet-shoe walk in normal summer flow, and turn around after heavy rain. Much quieter than the nearby Glen Ellis Falls crowd. WMNF trail; recreation pass applies at WMNF lots.
