Mashapaug Pond is Providence's largest freshwater pond, in the Reservoir Triangle neighborhood between Reservoir and Huntington Avenues. It sits on the former Gorham Manufacturing silver-plant site and has long carried RI DEM and Department of Health no-contact advisories for heavy metals, cyanobacteria, and stormwater bacteria. Use it as a walk-around and viewing page — do not swim, wade, or eat the fish.

Getting there
From Route 10, take the Reservoir Avenue exit in Providence. The pond sits between Reservoir and Huntington Avenues; use street parking near JT Owens Park and walk the pond-edge paths. Stay on the walking paths — swimming, wading, and fishing are not safe here.
