At a glance
Overview
Worden Pond is Rhode Island's largest natural freshwater pond — roughly 1,043 acres of shallow South County water with an average depth of only about 4 feet. Primary access is the RI DEM state boat launch at 271 Wordens Pond Road in South Kingstown: cement ramp, small dock, and a large gravel lot. There is no sanctioned swim beach. Hydrilla was detected here in 2023, so boaters are required to clean, drain, and dry their gear before leaving.
