At a glance
Overview
Melville Park is a town-owned preserve on former Navy property in the Melville section of Portsmouth. The 4.5-mile color-coded trail network circles Upper and Lower Melville Ponds; the Blue Trail drops past a small seasonal waterfall as the brook runs toward Narragansett Bay. Best treated as a pond-and-trail walk — the falls are a modest cascade, not a swim.
