At a glance
Overview
Stepstone Falls is Rhode Island's marquee waterfall, a series of ledge-step cascades on the Falls River inside Arcadia Management Area in Exeter. The drops total about 10 feet spread over 100 feet of flat, stepped bedrock. The standard approach is a 2.7-mile out-and-back on the blue-blazed Ben Utter Trail from the small dirt pull-off on Falls River Road; if that is full, use the larger Austin Farm Road / Escoheag Hill lot and come in via the Escoheag and Ben Utter trails.
