Getting there
Bolton Potholes has NO LEGAL CAR PARKING. Per the Town of Bolton and Vermont River Conservancy, parking is prohibited on both sides of the Bolton Valley Access Road for two miles north of the US 2 intersection, along US 2 itself, at the Smilie Memorial Elementary School, and on Curtis Lane (residents only). Enforcement is active and vehicles are towed. Plan foot or bicycle access only. Approach the potholes carefully from whichever legal trail you used; the short path drops down to a chain of pools on Joiner Brook, with the most dangerous lower pothole (locally 'Eagle's Eye') near the top of the chain.
