Getting there
Burton Island is accessible only by boat. Drive to Kill Kare State Park at 2714 Hathaway Point Rd, St. Albans, and board the Island Runner passenger ferry (no cars or private boats); the crossing is about 10 minutes. The ferry runs 7 days a week from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend with limited September service. Kill Kare requests a maximum of 2 cars per group because of tight lot capacity. Once on the island, follow signs to the rocky swim beach with its small dock.
