Getting there
Deep Rocks is an unofficial but long-established Poultney River swim on VT Route 140 in East Poultney. Heading east on VT 140 from the East Poultney Green (Eagle Tavern), continue roughly 500 feet past the tavern and watch for a small dirt pull-off on the right. Two short paths -- each only about 20 feet -- drop from the pull-off to the top of the rock ledges above the pool. A steeper, rougher path from the same pull-off leads down to a small gravel beach where the water shoals out. 'Horses Heaven', a narrow, deeper slot, is about 50 feet further down the road.
