Getting there
Green River Reservoir State Park is a 5,500+ acre remote reservoir park in Hyde Park, with most camping by paddle-in only. The day-use swim access is at the SOUTHERN END off GREEN RIVER DAM ROAD (not Reservoir Road -- ignore any copy that says Waterbury Center State Park; that's a different park). From Morrisville or Hyde Park village, follow Garfield Road to Green River Dam Road and drive to the state-park day-use lot; an ADA-accessible boardwalk connects the lot to the ADA boat launch and shoreline. Swimming is unofficial from the shoreline -- no designated beach -- but the water is clean and the reservoir is designated as Vermont's only 'quiet lake' (no gas motors, <5 hp electric). Day use 10:00 AM to official sunset; once the lot is full you are turned away. Remote park -- no potable water, no cell service, leashed dogs in the access area only; pack out all trash.
