Getting there
The public beach at Seymour Lake (the second-largest lake in Vermont) sits at the NORTH END of the lake in Morgan (Orleans County, Northeast Kingdom). From Island Pond take VT 105 east about 4 miles, then VT 111 north; from Derby Center take VT 105 west to Morgan Center and turn onto VT 111 south. The MORGAN TOWN PUBLIC BEACH has a SANDY HALF-MILE OF SHORELINE with FREE parking. The lake is spring-fed and very clean -- one of the purest lakes in Vermont. No lifeguards; watercraft inspection station at the adjacent boat launch during season to check for invasive species. Cell service is spotty in the Northeast Kingdom; carry a paper map as backup.
