Getting there
North Hero State Park sits on Lake Champlain at 3803 Lakeview Drive, North Hero. The park is day-use only now; camping has been phased out. A small, primitive swim beach and a boat launch share the shoreline, and the park is open year-round from 10 a.m. until sunset. There are no staff on site, and day-use fees are collected by donation at a self-serve box at the contact station. Map turtles and other species nest along the beach, and parts of the shoreline may be closed during nesting season to protect them; respect every posted notice. Check the Vermont State Parks recreational water status page before visiting, especially in warm calm weather when cyanobacteria blooms show up in the Champlain Islands. To reach the park, follow US 2 through North Hero Village and turn onto Lakeview Drive.
